Create a Business Plan
Creating a business plan is possibly the most important part of starting a business. A business plan is an outline of your business idea: your business goals, how you'll achieve them and the time frame you'll achieve them in. They're often required by banks when seeking a business loan for a new business. If you need help creating a business plan the Florida Small Business Development Center is a great resource. They have free business consulting and low-cost training to help you get started.
Decide on a Business Name
Naming a business can be fun but it can also be difficult. There are many free or low-cost resources online to help you name your business. Shopify has a free business name generator that uses AI to generate brand names. Another company, Frozen Lemons, will come up with 4 business names for under $100. The hard part is choosing the right one!
Structure Your Business
There are pros and cons to each type of legal business structure. We recommend speaking to a lawyer or a business counselor when it comes to deciding your business structure.
